Word For The Year
It has become my habit in place of New Year's Resolutions to choose a word for my year. The word is meant to encapsulate my hopes for the coming months. It is meant as an intention, a notification to the Universe that this is what I want more of in my life. Picking just one word for the year frees me from the hamster wheel of self improvement projects. Instead, it allows the freedom to let the year unfold in a general direction.
My word for 2015 was flow, an intention live an authentic life and notice what thoughts, words, and actions were flowing out of me into that life. I wanted to step away from my inherent impulse to *fix* things (That is my job, after all!) and just learn to allow some things to be the way they are.
My word for 2016 is expansive. I really like this one because it can take me in 2 directions. Expansive can mean wide in terms of space or scope, spacious. A space where there is room to grow and learn. Expansive can also mean open, demonstrative, or communicative. I tend to talk expansively, no doubt. That's a good thing, one of the things that I like about myself.
So, I have a wide and deep space with room to communicate openly. Expansive.
And you? What is a word to best describe your intentions for 2016?
