November thoughts

“It takes courage to allow yourself to live the life you dreamed you could.” — Kelly Rae Roberts

Hello from my new yellow office in Encinitas. After two months of intensive renovating, decorating, stocking, and organizing, this place is beginning to feel like home. The practice has been open two full weeks now, and each day has been a little gift-wrapped bundle of opportunities to meet and help new patients and opportunities to practice patience and acceptance(aka challenges, like when the water filter sprang a leak within an hour of the electronic prescribing system going down, and we all realized that no one had thought to order back-up paper prescriptions...).

October was an amazing month. We hosted our Grand Opening celebration on October 15th, and the response from the community was heart-warming. Almost 400 people came through our suite to take tours, receive complimentary VISIA complexion analyses, munch on wholesome snacks, and enter our raffle for skin care prizes. I was (and still am) astounded and energized by the number of people who came to engage with my staff members and me. Heaps of gratitude to everyone who made the effort to come out.

For November, I have set the intention to cultivate a bit more balance—returning to my yoga practice and remembering to call my mom. Fall is the perfect time for reflection and for expressions of gratitude. I am grateful for my new medical practice, the team of lovely ladies who are quickly becoming essential to my daily workflow, and the opportunity to develop authentic connections in my new community. And you? For what are you grateful this month?

What shampoo is good for popele with eczema?I don't have eczema on my scalp, it's on my hands, and any kind of soap seems to irritate it. I've gotten gentle cleansers for just about every other situation, but shampoo eludes me. While there are tons of fragrance-free options in body wash, clothing detergent, etc, none exist in shampoo. Thanks for any suggestions.
