I am in the midst of developing a self-branded skin care line as my latest project. I wanted specific products at a reasonable price point that were free of icky parabens and nasty phthalates, used plant based ingredients when possible, and were not tested on animals. It's not a large line--about 14 products and I'm almost done. The new line was carefully researched to use active ingredients that really work, in concentrations that make a difference. All containers are recyclable, and 1% of the purchase price goes to support local eco-nonprofits through One Percent For The Planet. My eventual goal is to incorporate an online store into my website so that when people need more product, they don't necessarily have to come into the office to purchase it.
So far I have tinted and clear mineral sunscreens, a vitamin C/vitamin E/green tea antioxidant serum, a glycolic acid cleanser, a gentle retinol, and a rich moisturizer with 5% niacinamide (vitamin B3). To come are a Goji Berry Green Tea eye cream, Bright Eyes eye cream for undereye circles, Green Calming Cream for people prone to facial redness, and medicated acne treatment pads.
I have to say that the sunscreen is my favorite new product because it is non-chemical and not sticky or shiny. Guys like the clear one and girls tend to like like the tinted one for a bit of color and coverage. I'm also a *huge* fan of Skin Polish, my 10% glycolic acid cleanser. I've been using just half a pump twice a day on my face, neck, chest, and the backs of my hands, and my skin literally reflects light. Wow. My desire for a glycolic acid cleanser actually started this whole idea months ago when my old-school standby Aquaglycolic cleanser was getting more and more difficult to find over the counter.
Anyway I'm a bit excited about the idea (Can you tell?) so I'm having an Open House Event next Thursday, June 13th, from 11 AM til 7 PM. If you are local, you are cordially invited to join me for the launch of my new skin care line at a party with complimentary skin care consults, VISIA skin analyses, Q&A with myself and Melissa (beautiful, gentle new aesthetician), raffle prizes, organic lemonade, and yummy treats.
We will be raffling one each of my new peels: The Polish Peel (for skin retexturing) and The Bright Peel (to fade brown spots)--more on these shortly. Winner need not be present to win. Join us for these and other specials. We would love to see you there!
