Mini-Mindfulness

 

Feeling impatient can increase your stress and irritability. Instead try honoring your "in-betweens." In-betweens are those times when you can't get anything else done: waiting in line, driving to a destination, commercial interruptions on the TV or radio, or even walking down a hallway.

Seize those moments as a chance to check in with how you're feeling, connect with someone around you, or notice a pleasant object, color, smell, or sound.

You can also try scheduling on your phone a reminder 4 times daily for
1. Two deep breaths (pranayama, equal breath in, equal breath out)
2. Mentally verbalizing your mantra (Pick 3 words. What important message do you want to be reminded of 4 times today?)
3. Repeating one word describing your goal. We all have limited time, energy, and resources. What is your focus right now?

This way you will have at least 8 great breaths every day!
