I just had to share this

See the little round gray blob about the center of the photo? That's a hummingbird nest, and it's about an inch in diameter. In the South, I grew up around plenty of hummingbirds every summer, but I never saw a nest until now. The mother built in one of my potted miniature palm trees, and I've been carefully spying on it regularly. First, there was a white egg the size of a Jelly Belly bean. Then:

I have had two nesting situations that I have monitored in my yard here in Leucadia. Photographed both situations daily. Each had two eggs. The second one required I gently pull the branch toward me to photograph. The little ones became familiar with me to the extent that, upon leaving the nest, they actually came back and fed on the sugar water feeder I was refreshing while I was holding the feeder. Unbelievable!
